With not much else left other than a mountain of debt from student loans and canceled un-refundable wedding deposits, she managed to keep her pre-paid ticket and reservations for her life-long dreamed for, and planned honeymoon tour of Scotland. Unfortunately, her totally obnoxious ex-fiance, has a change of heart did I say change of heart - he had no heart but was determined to win her back through whatever devious means he could - such as, canceling her credit cards, reservations, stealing her luggage, passport, etc. Now after all that you are probably wondering why anyone would want to read this and more than likely you are already disgusted with the heroine. They spend a lot of time thinking about what they should instead be talking about to each other. I understand feelings are hard to share for some people but this was to the point of ridiculousness. Plus when I read a romance novel I expect some not a lot but at least some "action" so to speak, but as another reviewer said it was G-rated.

Gafden loved this book for the mere fact that it was clean. Thank you to Lynn Kurland for not putting ni all the slutty, filthy love scenes and creating a story that takes the heart and mind away into a wonderful world. Throughout the story, Madelyn also toys with idea that she would like nothing better than to chuck her law career and simply let a man perhaps Patrick take kurlabd of her.

I her descriptions were spot on, and made you feel like you were actually standing in the Highlands of Scotland. She also does some time traveling, as in this book, however she has a website that categorizes her books if you prefer no time traveling. There were a couple of parts that were a little cheesy, but despite that the author kept me interested.

I enjoyed this book, although I thought it dragged a little towards the end. Any book with sword fighting, ghosts with a sense of humor, castles, time travel, and fun characters is a good work of fiction to read. TOP Related Articles.

Ive been wanting to try her other books, but I guess felt a little overwhelmed because there are so many and I wasnt sure if they had to be read in order, etc. I ended up jumping in with A Garden in the Rain, even though its like book eight in the MacLeod series. I didnt feel like I was really missing much, although I could tell that I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had read them in order. A fair warning, there are spoilers below.
